Created Creators

During a series on the nature of God we focused on God’s infinite creativity. Throughout this service we had a painter on the platform painting a large picture of a creation scene. We also set up various stations around the worship space where people could go to participate in different kinds of creative activities: drawing, painting, molding clay, working with paper, etc. We made it clear that participating in these creative stations was an act of worship if offered up to God and people should feel free to go to them at any time, including during speaking, music, and prayer. The image of the painter creating and the experience of doing something creative during worship brought home the message in a way mere words never could have.
